I have released an update to Positron Studio which fixes a few issues.
Version now is 2.0.3. build 8
See What's New for details.
You can download from the Positron Studio site using this link.

To avoid possible confusion I am renaming Positron Backup Files from .zip to .bak
You will still be able to access earlier archives with the zip extension but future backups will all have the extension .bak.
You will now only be able to open the backup files from within the IDE.

I have updated Positron Studio - main new feature is the addition of PPS Wizard which replaces the original.

Users who have previously tried the PPS Wizard out as a standalone should remove it and the device files associated with it completely. This install will install the PPSWizard files as follows:

C:\ProgramFiles\Positron Studio\PlugIns\PPSWizard\PPSWizard.exe
C:\users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Positron Studio\PlugIns\PPSWizard\Devices
C:\users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Positron Studio\PlugIns\PPSWizard\Devices16bit

Download the Positron Studio install

Tells me it can't be opened

JohnB

What can't be opened?  The download? The Install or the Application.
If its the download I suggest its your AV or some other security app which is preventing download.
I can download and install from the link supplied.
Without more to go on I cannot help you.

I can repeat that here.  I'm not at my development PC (child minding!!) but I will get an update out there ASAP.
It only seems to be a problem when opening pages from the welcome screen.

Using the Fuse configurator. Whenever I click on a fuse I get this Access Violation at address 00000000000000000 in module "PositronStudio.exe", Execution of address (lots of 0) :'(

JohnB

What device have you declared? I cannot repeat here with any of my code.
Can you send me your code that is causing this. Send it to support@positronstudio.co.uk

I got as far as this

           Device = 16F1507
           xtal = 20

Then clicked Fuses then try to change any of the settings and BOOM.

Is there some form of diagnostics I can activate which might help you?

It seems to do it whatever I type, as it does it on this too;

      Device = 16F877A
      Xtal = 4

It seems that is ONLY does it on "bare" source files. If I Start new Project and follow the steps, it doesnt do it.

Try just creating a new source file on it's own from the front "welcome" page.

JohnB

I cannot get it to fail here doing exactly as you did.
Assuming you are working on a 64bit version of windows try downloading this version of the main executable and replacing the installed version. It has a few changes which will be in the upcoming release.

keytapper

It may need a special edition which has a debug logger to help on tracking down the program process in file. Maybe just adding few options on the command line to have it running.
Ignorance comes with a cost

I have heard no more from SeanG_65 so I assume he is sufficiently sorted.

I am constantly getting access violation errors when trying to use the positron studio.  Most ofent its when opening the .bas file.  I have tried 2.0.3 build 11 and 12.  Sometimes its take 3-4 attempts before I can open the file.  This is on windows 10.
