Today I went on Aliexpress for buying some 0805 sized yellow LEDs because my stockpile is almost over, usually they cost about 1$ for 100pcs, now the price is about 6$-7$ ...

After DDR5 going crazy expensive, now LEDs, one have to wonder what happens with semiconductors market?

Since yr in Belgium, did u notice any markup since July 1st ? it's a EU thing

As diebobo said, I heard EU had put some sort of charge on every item in a parcel so if you had 2 different colours you would get charged twice.
I have just had a quick look and 0805 yellow £0.55/100 and £2.91 delivery UK.

It could be, I am not really familiar with the EU customs and tax policy ... recently I found out I have to pay VAT of 20c and 12E customs documentation for one order ... ridiculous.

A daylight robbery. Instead the Maf!a in the EU did with a percentage, they did a fixed price on every package of EUR3.00.

Therefore, if a shop buys 50 t-shirts for his shop to sell them, he is charged EUR3.00, and if I buy a single shirt for me, I still pay EUR3.00.

The worst thing is with this, for me, hobby. We all know as Trastikata bought, buy a lot of items ranging from EUR1.50 to EUR3.00.

On a last order I was going to do, I had a total of EUR16.00, and customs EUR24.00.

A DAYLIGHT ROBBERY from the Maf!a EU.

Adding to my previous post, this is temporary for a 2 year period, however, and this came from the horses mouth, it is not that they are going to remove it.

Maf!a EU are planning to increase this tax to a range between EUR8.00 to EUR12.00 per package, and add a EUR2.00 handling charges.

The European Union charges extra fees for orders from China to curb the massive flow of cheap packages.
This protects European entrepreneurs against unfair competition, improves product safety controls, and reduces the administrative burden on customs.

Mass production, low labor costs and often low safety standards ensure that China can be cheap.
But above all, government subsidies: The Chinese government supports export companies with tax benefits, cheap loans and free land, in other words, unfair competition.

It is therefore an attempt to protect European industry.
