Hi Les,

Is there a plan to add the DSPIC33CK1024MP708 / 710 to the list of supported devices in a future paid upgrade ?

Thoose have a good amount of RAM.... I Upvote this request ! :D

I am going through the dsPIC33CK devices, and I already have a few made, and I will add the DSPIC33CK1024xxx range as well.

It is not as straightforward as it used to be, because microchip are starting to keep things a secret for the devices, and finer details and SFRs and bit positions and names are harder to find, and read for the compiler .ppi and .def files, so people must use their C compilers. What is wrong with this civilisation? Greed and control seems to dominate everything!

Best regards
Les

Very good news Les !

We're eagerly awaiting the release of the next paid update  ;)

Rather than "locking down" their products, Microchip could recognize the value of other development tools; honestly, I can't understand why they haven't "adopted" an exceptional product like Positron 8/16, a win-win strategy could have been found.

Indeed very good news !..  And it's seems to be a drop in replacement for the dsPIC33CK256MP508 series.. To bad not even more more MIPS, but the memory and extra DMA is very welcome.

Hi Diebobo, there's no doubt that having plenty of RAM opens up new possibilities; compatibility with the microcontroller we're already familiar with is, in theory, excellent. Microchip sells the EV97U97A board with a DSPIC33CK1024MP710 on board at a reasonable price; I'm eagerly awaiting the Positron24 update.

Out of curiosity: have you had a chance to try the bootloader for the DSPIC33CKMP508 that I posted a few months ago ?
