I've just discovered that the public can visit CERN. Have any of you guys ever been there?

Not CERN but another particle accelerator at Bhaba Atomic Research Center. Fortunately the machine was off then otherwise I woudn't have been allowed without lead jackets.

Cern is also said to be a time machine, and I think this may be correct !

Consider that C R Swart (Blackie) was a sick africa union president 1959 to 1961.
Now in 202x with Cern we have again a C R (Cyril Ramaphosa) who is also black and we have already slumped back to before the 1960's.
Not sure how far back we will deteriorate yet... but it seems that is how you time travel.  A repeat of history perhaps.

Cern is apparently the acceleration of particles and then when they crash it is supposed to yield some outcome.

Cern does not seem to be a new idea, the run-up to cern is probably this incident in Ohio in 1895...
Particles are less expensive than cars to crash.
