Had enough of SIM800 which supports only GPRS 2G speeds & need to switch over to something faster.
Can anyone suggest which Quectel to use? I dont need GPS/GNSS...only fast API calls.
EC200U-CN seems to the cheapest.

We had significant issues with Quectel. For example, L92, I purchased from three locations (Mouser, Comet, Mouser), and each component in the batch behaved differently. Some did not remember the refresh rate settings, others remembered but did not save them, and others did not respond to PMTK commands, etc. I would advise you to read the forums carefully before using any product, to make sure there are no problems. Quectel's support leaves much to be desired. After many emails to technical support, I still haven't received a solution even after a year.

Thanks Midali for the info.

Shantanu I know of companies here using hundreds of these in product each month with their apps:
Simcom A7682E and another company uses the EG915N from Quectel

They have not had any issues and work very successfully.

In the past I've been very satisfied with A6 GPRS modules (2G) from Ai Thinker Technology, maybe they have something that will fit your requirements.

Thanks Craig and Trastikata.
I guess I need to carry out a few experiments and then choose.
