Aaaah the English !

I just watched a short which shows the English developed a wearable device for the deaf that warns them when the phone is ringing.

In the 2000s Nokia made handsfree headsets that had a module that vibrated in the chest and the person perceived sounds and could talk on the phone. I haven't seen it on the market, but if they developed it, it would definitely be an accessory for people with hearing problems by now

In 1995 KPN Telecom introduced a ballpoint pen with a red light on top that flashed when you received a call.

In 1952 I had a pen, which had a lady in it. If you turned it upside down, all her clothes fell off!

In 19-something I had glasses with girls on, if you pour something cold, their clothes would disappear.  At the time my then small son accidentally walked in pointed out that the one girl had a ring on her finger...

So here is a new project using graphic displays, since we have naked girls and vibrators and red lights flashing, how about sign language showing on the graphics display to the deaf person what the caller is saying, or even writing the text on the screen.

If it does not exist now, then either they could not get it work well enough to be usable or the potential market size was so small that production costs would have been so high that it would be too expensive for most people.

Surely there must be speech to text apps for mobile phones now that do that and probably translate text to speech for the replies, in the UK there is a service called Relay for landline phones where a person listens and types what someone is saying so the deaf person can read it although I think it needs a particular phone with a large screen to display the text on to work.
