Not for me, just a problem I saw on the Vintage Radio forum where I am also a member.

does anyone have any ideas in programming a 16C77?  One problem appears to be that there is nothing newer with the same pinout and it is for a restoration / reproduction project

The C- pics are usually production chips and can be programmed only once.
Try the 16F77

Thanks Fanie, I'll look at the data sheet but having read the original thread again it looks like the OP is intent on using his PIC-Start plus.

Hi,
As Fanie said, I think the "C" variety are OTP (One time programmable) unless he has the windowed "JW" (I think) version which you will also need a UV eraser if you get it wrong. How many of us download the program and it works first time.

QuoteThe PICStart Plus development system operates on a PC compatible machine running a Microsoft Windows operating system, specifically tested with Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP SP2 and later versions. It uses the MPLAB IDE software to program PIC microcontrollers, which was included for free with the programmer.
If he still have this then he can do it.
