From where is this available? In the metal TO-3 package?

I see Alibaba have some for $0.10, but probably NOT genuine National Semiconductor parts :)

I really miss National Semiconductor. I cut my designer teeth reading their data and application handbooks - and using their devices of course.

Someone in the Cape caught this beautiful Puff Adder.

What makes them especially dangerous is that they bite first and reconsider later.  They have large venom sacs, large fangs, and strike very hard to drive the fangs deep.  Most likely the fastest striking snake because you don't see it bite.  They camouflage very well in the veld and is often the reason someone step on or near enough to get a surprise.  They do hiss if they become aware of you as a warning.

Apparently Puff Adders are more dangerous when they are small, because they have not yet developed the ability to control the amount of venom they inject, while a large one like this can.  Big or small, you don't want to get bitten by one.  The amount of venom is always too much.  Never hold them behind the head, they have the habit to suddenly rip their head out of your grip and strike before you realize what happened.

Hi guys, do any of you use AR glasses ?  For work ?
The new ones have some nice abilities judging by the tube's video's.

And something you can ponder on how electricity actually works.
It's a bit long winded though.

According to some video's you can have like 3 displays to work on without using desk space.  The glasses detect your head movement when looking left or right and so bring the different screens into view.  The screens are scalable to a large size 150" ? and apparently the resolution is good on the micro O-led screens.

Something entertaining

How big is a lion ?
https://youtube.com/shorts/uqtS0eDaBCo?si=HcrhrGE74Gyxa12Y

The females are a lot smaller, but they are the aggressive ones, especially if there are cubs.
The big males are a lot like us, noisy and full of show and threads, but will usually retreat.

There was a video sent around a while back where a farmer went into his tame lions camp.  When he saw the lions approach, he made the mistake to turn and run for the gate.  The ease with which the lion male grabbed him and dragged him away into the grass is unbelievable, like a cat that caught a bird.  The farmer's sudden turn and run triggered the lion's instinct to catch the now prey.  He survived with a few nasty holes.

And why do wiemen always scream ?  Makes everything just more exciting.  For the lions.  And don't run.

And not too long ago it was common belief that we had lions roaming the streets.
Yes we do, but we put them away when we get visitors  ::)   Slowly, no running away .

Lions are the only big cat in Africa that will hunt people.

Some of the best music ever made was by the English, and some are still of my favorites to date.

I was wondering, if the best was made already, is there anything to look forward to ?

Activation of the Mini MP3 Player Module analog inputs.
On board ID is DFPlayer Mini andHW247A Version 0.5.1, although I suspect there are other versions of exactly the same module.

If you use these players then the A/D inputs seems not to be selected/activated.
To activate them, with an SD card inserted and powered up, you have to briefly connect the A/D1 input to 0V.
This seems to activate the module and after that you can use the analog input pin values without any problems.

White men killing creatures. As usual. For "fun"/"sport" or just because they exist?  So. How about this - a something just a little bit more complicated. "The Sator Stone"

It reads up to down, down to up, sideways, left and right. All while still making sense. Now that's something to create. Loosely translated (Latin) it reads "Arepo guides the wheels with effort/care" Make that of what you will.

Here it is - (a wide link to it - so take your pick of which version, if any,  appeals the most)

There are two types of humans on the earth.  Humans, and non-humans.
It is not "white" men killing creatures for fun or sport, non-humans do that.
A Human is someone with a conscience, and have sympathy and empathy with living creatures. There are things Humans won't do to others or animals.

Since we are heading away from Pisces towards Aquarius, all hidden will be revealed, including who is who.
Pisces was the time of the great religions, deception, fraud etc.
Aquarius is associated with enlightenment, personal freedom, and exposure of the hidden.

Already hints are appearing that non-humans are from the fallen angels who ended up on earth who want to be gods, and leave a path of destruction where ever they invade.

Lets see how this plays out, the earth is changing beneath our feet.

As for your stone, perhaps it meant something for some foreign ancient civilizations, but in this world has little meaning other than perhaps a stone to walk over, in the same way that Astrix's menhir's became obsolete, because it is not digital.  Still have some uses though.
And btw, the French still have the tallest menhir standing. It's kind of expected from them, just listen how they speak  ;D

Rocks floating in space, like Pluto and Mars is a lot more interesting, just read up on them and the effect and meaning they have.
And questions like what was first, space travel or the digital watch  ::)

Your post about the DF-Player: I use these quite a lot. What is the "analog input" you refer to?

Charlie

Hi charlie,
Probably the ADKEY_1/2
Have a look here, scroll down for work mode 2. ADKey Mode  https://wiki.dfrobot.com/DFPlayer_Mini_SKU_DFR0299

OK, thanks guys. I misunderstood and thought Fanie was referring to Analog Inputs, my mistake. But there are some bad DF-Player's out there.

You mis-misunderstood  ;D
The model I mentioned do have analog inputs.  See this data sheet.  Same as the one in RGV250's link.
I use this one specifically because it is so easy to use the A/D inputs.
Only one project using them uses a pic, and that is a 10F200.  I couldn't find a smaller pic. It just start the model to play.

charliecoutas

Got it. Thanks.

Here is a nice power supply, cheap, easy to use.
Adjust from 0.6V to 27V, works off 5V.
It seems to hold the set output voltage quite well, no drift over time.
It also has an off switch switching the output off if you need to work on the board.
I 3D printed some enclosures with a 5V output power supply from the 12V solar, and USB-A sockets where all the USB things get plugged in to either work from or charge.
Since the power supply is so small, it does not have to be in one place, it can float anywhere on the work bench where it is required.
Negative is common for the in and output so you can connect multiple of these for 3V3, 5V, 12V 24V etc.
The 7 segment display does not indicate exactly the correct voltage, you will have to check with the multimeter if you want to work with an exact value.
