Who is "Eco Media Company"

I received an email comfirming a payment for the compilers upgrade, but there was no email, or message to give the download link URL. So I was waiting for an email from the purchaser to confirm the payment, or ask where to download it etc...

However...... Instead of the decent thing to do, I received a "Case" from paypal, stating the purchaser had requested a refund!

So... My question is: Who is "Eco Media Company", and what is the email, so I can send the compilers upgrade download link to them, because it is ready to go?

Does Anyone know?

In every piece of text I have created with the details for the purchase of the compilers or the upgrade, I have stated that an email is required for the return download link. However, it seems that the words are ignored!

For example, the texts for the upgrade, here on the forum reads as:

"Once a PayPal payment of £25.00 has been established, and, importantly, a message sent to tell me your email address, the upgrade installer link will be sent to you and can be downloaded."

I have just found an email address, hidden in the paypal account details. However, no upgrade details will be sent until the refund request is cancelled. It will then be sent to "l*@#.mk". But, as I have found out a few times in the past, the paypal email name used is not always the email that a person uses.

Hi Les,
Sounds like a scam to me, I have heard of people ordering stuff and then getting a refund saying it has not been delivered and keeping the stuff.
If the purchase is for the upgrade, if they are genuine they will already have the compiler so if the person who is asking for the upgrade is not in your list of previous purchasers then they must have a dodgy compiler. I would expect anyone who is genuine will be on the forum anyway.

Have Paypal actually received the money in which case they can just take it back and do not send the software to the person at all.

Also you need a persons name as if you put "Eco media company" on the compiler they could let anyone use it.

This is why I do not trust Paypal for anything.

I don't think that will happens as it appears that instead of initially contacting Les to enquire about the status of thier purchase, they have jumped stright to requesting a refund.

I am not sure what use a PIC would be to a media company, assuming that Media is referring to the general use of the English word.
As @RGV250 mentioned, it could be someone trying to work the system to thier advantage. However, if you have actually recieved the funds into your account then it I would think it more likely to be a genunie error/misunderstanding as I cannot see what they gain from that, as if you have recieved payment surely they would only get back what they had already sent.

Back when I was selling things through PayPal I used to receive Transaction details (either via e-mail or via looking at my account transactions) which listed the purchasers name, address, e-mail address and I think shipping address if different to the billing address.
If the .mk at the end of the e-mail address you alluded to is correct, that suggests the purchaser is from North Mascedonia, thus their English may not be very good and so they may have been expecting you to e-mail the download link to address listed in the Transaction details, not realising they had to specifically state the e-mail address they wanted you to send the download link to.

I would think that even if the e-mail address you have found is not being monitored for some reason, PayPal must have one that is for sending reciepts and status updates on any case to to the purchaser. Any good compalaints/case proceedure should give you the oppertunity to respond to/dispute the case and is being monitored, thus, if you have not already done so try making it clear in a response there (& also copy to an e-mail to the address you found), that they were purchasing a product distributed electronically, not a physical product and that the purchaser has not recieved thier purchase because they failed to clearly indicate to which e-mail address the the download link should be sent as they should have done.

Mystery solved, but I still feel a bit peeved at no previous direct contact from email or the forum, and a "case" brought up on paypal. Because I would have cancelled a payment and issued a refund if I had been contacted.

Email received:

QuoteDear Mr. Les Johnson, Thinking it was a new version of the compiler, I paid you £25.00. Since I had already obtained that version of the compiler about two years ago, I opened a case with PayPal to have the money refunded. The case has been resolved positively, so I will receive the refunded amount in a few days. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the inconvenience caused. I have been using your compiler for a long time and I am very satisfied with it.

Hi,
Did he explain to Paypal that was the case?

A good point Bob.

I have refunded, and explained to paypal why, with the email text that was sent to me.

The last thing I need is a negative with paypal, that may effect my account with them. I've been with paypal since 2004!

I had an issue with eBay: they accused me of "violating their terms and conditions". That really upset me but repeated attempts to get any explanation failed. It seems that we are probably dealing with either machines or crooks.

Be careful.

The Flame Effect Fire is coming along nicely. Video (if I can manage to post it on the forum) soon.
