Sorry for not being on the forum much lately, but I am currently going through some health problems, so, hopefully, it will be a few weeks before I am back as normal on it.

Best regards
Les

Hi Les,
Your health is more important than this forum.
Take good care of yourself.
Best wishes.

Many thanks.

At the moment, I feel like utter crap (physically and psychologically), and I am not quite sure what is wrong, apart from the anxiety etc... Which may be playing its part with it.

Teo

Hi Les,
I wish you good health and all the best!
Sorry for my English.
Best regards,
Teo

Hello friend, take all the time you need. Remember that only you know how you are, and if you don't take care of yourself, no one will. Friend, your time is your time, enjoy it. If there are pending things, leave them like that, nothing will happen. Life goes on. Cheer up, your friend above won't leave you, he's with you.
For my part, I thank you for everything you do. I don't know you personally. I believe you are a noble person; that's what I perceive. Remember that geniuses also get tired.

When I feel down, a walk in the nature, in the open air, always makes me feel better. Most difficult is the first step to go out but if you overcome this desire to stay home, then the nature will recharge you. I made it a habit once every two or three weeks to go out in the open fields, being able to see the horizon makes wonders to your spirit.

Get well Les!

Hello Les,
I'm sorry you're not well. Although we enjoy your presence on the Forum, there are far more important things such as your health and your wonderful wife.
The many supportive people here will keep the forum the helpful and friendly place it is.
Best wishes from your Aussie friend,
John

Hope you get well Les.  Take it easy and don't stress about the forum, it can look after itself

Hello Les,

Rest assured that it's temporary and you'll recover soon. Thank you for sharing this here; one of the main reasons we're here is friendship, and you're at the heart of it. A big hug from your friend in Brazil.

Oh well.... I found out why I have not been feeling to good for the past few weeks...

I had a, fortunately, small heart attack on tuesday. Those are very strange words to see me writing. :-)

I think it was based upon stress and anxiety just building and building to an extent that my body just said "bugger it, i'm off :-) ", which is what anxiety actually is, not just feeling a bit worried, as I used to think it was before my brain injury. It just got the better of me over time, because I have not let my brain relax and try to heal, but neither do the bloody government and DWP, so I was rushed to hospital, and had tests that confirmed I had a heart attack and signed myself out of hospital yesterday (wednesday), because they wanted to shove bits of wire and chemicals in me.

So I am having to take time off from any stressful events. Both physically, and mentally, and have a boat load of medicines to take each day. But that certainly does not mean the forum, or writing code snippets etc. This place is such a joy to be in, with so many friends.

Best regards, and many thanks for your kind words.
Les

Blimey. Take your time and nurse yourself back to health Les. Wishing you all the very best.

Thanks for letting us all know Les. Now you know what to do, listen to your better half and do as she says :-)
Get well soon.

PS I had a double bypass in 2007 and still here.
All the best,
John

From personal experience I can say that the mild heart issue may be a lifesaver.

I had a heart scare a few years back, it was slight obstruction in a small vessel. I had a coronary angiogram to establish what the issue was. Then I was placed on some blood pressure reducers and thinners. I felt such a loser, in my late 50's and managing to have a small H A. I did not like the idea of taking my meds, tried to reduce them, I was in denial.

But since then I have accepted it and am actually think now it was a good thing as I have the wonders of modern science keeping me going.

The issue is that ignoring issues does not make them go away, they are just saved up to hit you harder later. Think yourself lucky, you now have medication that will add years to your life.

Sorry if I sound harsh saying you should be happy for this but it's what I feel.

Not that I think you will take me up on any offers but remember that I'm here for you. What every you need, £ or support I will help.

Get well soon Les.

I'm sorry to hear of your health issues. Take all the time you need to restore your heart and mind.

In 2019 a stent was fitted in my brain followed 6 months later by a bilateral stoke, sometimes life tends to be depressing.

Pepe

I hope Les, that you recover soon, last week I had surgery and they removed my thyroid.

Many thanks for all of your good, and beautiful, words, and your own experiences.

It shows that I am not the only one to have problems, so do my friends, and I know this sound strange to hear, but that actually makes me feel better?? :-O Because I know I am not alone.

I remember you telling me about your earlier heart problem when you were kindly driving me down to Bletchley park to meet Charlie and Ricardo, Tim. But when something similar has not happened to oneself, it has less deeper meaning, because it has not been experienced. Was that the thing that made you decide to retire, and do your own thing?

Wasn't the stent supposed to prevent a future stroke or rupture Ken? What went wrong, and are you OK now, because I know a rupture can and is a right B#s@*rd?

You get better as well Pepe, as we all have a lot of discussions and code writing to do on here. :-)

One of my most favourite songs is "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life", by Eric Idle, because it has such deep meanings, and joy, and humour, all together! A work of pure genius on so many levels in my opinion.

Always Look On The Bright Side of Life

Best regards

Get well soon. I also had minimally invasive bypass surgery on May 18, 2023.
My advice to you is this:
Do everything that makes you happy and avoid everything that makes you sad.
If possible, take a walk every morning; it helps everything.
Don't eat bread or sweets.
Eat plenty of greens for breakfast.
Eat a small meal for lunch.
Don't eat dinner; a handful of nuts or peanuts if necessary.
Don't go to bed late; get regular sleep.
You are so loved that everyone is praying for you. How happy you are.
Get well soon again.
