The Positron serial Com is simple to use. If you like to have your data recorded in excel download the excellent PLX-DAQ simple to use and completely free from Parallax https://www.parallax.com/package/plx-daq/

thank you guys.. now i have to upgrade my cheap usb to serial it was way back 2001 so it did'nt work.
