Hello friends.

I am now back online and home. The house needs a lot of work doing to it, so I may not be online as much because we need to work our finances to match what is required and do the repairs and decorationg etc... And this all takes time.

Also, my Paypal account has stopped because I forgot to change the address at the bank, but I did change it in Paypal. What a nonsense!!!

Hi Les!
Glad to hear the big part of the move is over. I hope the remaining tasks go well.

My dad's PayPal account was "permanently" blocked because he used a VPN to connect to them. It wasn't enough to just stop using the VPN- It took dozens of emails and phone calls to have his account reinstated. I hope your dealings with PayPal go better.

Glad to hear the move went OK Les. I want to buy a copy of the Positron Compiler, please let me know how best to do this.

Welcome back!!!
Bank account might be feasible too.
Just a different way to handle the payment, maybe less expensive than PayPal banking system.
Ignorance comes with a cost

Hi Les
Great to have you back!!!

Oskar-svr

It is very nice to hear from you again and that all this about moving house is crazy, but little by little things will normalize, cheer up friend that there is still more land to walk and these days I will be supporting you with the acquisition of other licenses greetings from Mexico

Great news that you are in.  Always a little weird waking up in a new home for the first few weeks.

charliecoutas

That's really good news Les. Here's to getting things sorted so you can relax a bit more.
Are you back in the Norwich area?

Nice to know that you're back. Wish I lived nearby to give you a helping hand in your house repairs.

Welcome back Les.

Let us know when PP is back up so that I can buy a 'spare' copy.

Ah, the joys of moving. With my work I've had 7 moves during my career so I know what it's like. The positive is that all the junk gets sifted out - well, nearly all.
Glad to see you back on again Les, hope all the furniture survived.
Best wishes
John

Leaving the junk behind is dangerous.  The last time we moved I left a hugh amount of stuff that I didn't expect to need.

I have lost track of all the things that I have had to buy again at great expense.

I left behind a box of metal spacers collected over more than 35 years but this week I had to buy some more, they are not exactly what I need but hopefully close enough.

There's probably a 'law' or adage that applies to this, like Murphy's does to unexpected problems. Some of the 'laws' are here: https://www.oxford-royale.com/articles/12-fun-laws-principles/

I like Shaemus's law, Murphy was an optimist.

At risk of hijacking the topic, the problem I mostly have is finding what I'm looking for amongst my generous collection of "might come in handy one day" items. To the point I buy again because I couldn't find it. And of course the lost is found a week after I bought a replacement. Reassure me I'm not the only one who does this. :)

Hi John,

Rest well assured that you are not alone!  I have also purchased items again because the items I had were hiding somewhere. "And of course the lost is found a week after I bought a replacement", nobody could have described the process better.  Have you ever put something in a "safe place"?  I have, and perhaps a year later, it appears while I'm searching for something else....  Oh! so that's where it was!  There are likely thousands of us all over the globe doing the same thing...  And that estimate is probably way under the actual number.

Best regards

Hal
