I don't know if this has been mentioned before but here goes.

A friend is having problems getting the 30F6014 device so he bought the 6014A variation but they would not work so he asked me to have a look.

It is not a device that I have used but looking at revision E of both data sheets the control registers on page 157 of the non A and page 160 of the A version the setup registers are very different.

Does anyone know of a pin and code compatible device please?

The dsPIC30F devices where the first generation of the dsPIC devices and have many, many differences to the current dsPIC33 devices, so it will not be code compatable.

The dsPIC30 devices are so old, and were outdated when I created the 16-bit compiler, I did not add them, because they have so much missing and work with a 4:1 clock, instead of the 2:1 clock for PIC24 and dsPIC33 devices, to name but a few differences.

If they are like the 8-bit "A" types, it is normally the config fuses that are different. The device architecture tends to stay the same.

Thanks Les, I also forgot to mention that Dave only has the O.E.M HEX files and the programming utility is probably customised as well
