Path longer than 64 characters

I tried using Proteus with a path longer than 64 characters for the bas file and was unsuccessful.
I remember that in the past it seems like someone solved this problem.
Can someone help me?

Use the command line Subst ?

I commonly use a different approach.
I put my filed in the temp folder.
Then when the project gets good results I save it to the original place.
This way would reduce the risks to face as OP mentions.

Also I'm used to tide up the temp folder.

That folder is a bit hidden, so need to set Windows to show hidden folder.
