NMEA 2000 on a PIC18F25K83

Has anybody ever built a working NMEA 2000 stack on an 18F25K83 (or similar 18F) device that passed certification ?

From what I'm reading it looks like around 8K of RAM is needed to hold all data that NMEA kicks around but I can't find anything definitive.
