Assembler error 108

Just made a few changes to an old working program and I now get '>Error([108] C:Users etc.etc  :Illegal character ($)'
And it reports 'ASSEMBLER ERRORS. HEX file not created.'

What is this?

Found it.  I had used a label Over_$BD: and it didn't like it.  It didn't highlight blue like other labels ut apart from that it lookes happy.  Over_BD: works.
