PIC18F46K42 bnf

Hi,

I wanted to generate a bnf file for the PIC18F46K42 with the bnf tool.
I had already converted the datasheet to text.
Now I see that the PIC18F46K42 is not in the bnf tool.
Is there a way to add this controller or does anyone already have a bnf file for this controller? Maybe also for the PIC18F26K42?

Hi,
I have only modified them but if it were me I would copy a close one and then rename it. Then go through the datasheet and edit as appropriate. I would use something like Notepad++ as normal ones can add formatting characters to the file.

I cannot help with regard to using the BNF tool but I did write some software to extract BNF data from the Microchip files that come with MPLABX and produced hundreds of BNF file which included the 18F46K42.

Generally they do not contain much in the way of descriptions for most bits as that information was rarely present in the files, so if that is your priority rather than the BitNames themselves they may not be of much use to you, but you can find a link to them and more information here.
