Has anyone any experience of the LTC1285 AtoD converter IC please?

using    SHIn DTA , CLK , MsbPre , [ADValue\15]

gives the best results but I cannot figure out why after power on I have to read the chip twice because the first sample is always wrong.  Subsequent readings are as expected.  I have tried adding delays at various points in the code but that does not help.

No experience, but if you have check with logic analyzer. See what is really happening on a electrical level.
