Hello all,

Is anyone could suggest a infrared camera that that convert an image directly to a USB port? Or possibly a PIC. The image rate is unimportant in my case. Something where the image could be even stored in a memory sick will also do. I know there are complete camera imaging system but those cost harm and legs.

regards,

Yves

Hi,
You will find many action cameras from the very cheap to the top GoPro type are sensitive to IR.   The sensors used cover a spectrum much wider than the human eye and are particularly sensitive to IR so they need an IR filter fitted behind the lens assembly to stop the camera from being overloaded by IR light.  Without the filter they are very sensitive to IR but everything takes on a purple tone.
Even without removing the filter you will find many cameras can see the IR LED in a TV remote and without the filter it will be extremely bright.
If you're looking for thermal imaging then you need to have a sensor that covers a longer wavelength IR.  Check out Google and IR filters.

Cheers,
David
