Hi,
Using a standard SIM based hotspot to upload data to cloud. But this requires a SIM issued to an individual, not a company. This is a problem both for me and my customer.
One of my customers is saying that they can provide company's M2M SIM with preconfigured I. P
I suppose that IP would be the service provider's cloud space.
Can someone explain please?

Hi,

I think the best way to connect to the cloud is via HTTPS. So you forget about IP addresses, etc. You can make a connection from a SIM card modem against a server, for example, "https://000.my-systems.server.es/news". You just need the modem to be able to handle HTTP.

All SIM cards (at least in Spain) are in the name of a person, regardless of whether it is for a company. This began to be so after the 11M attacks in Madrid.

Thanks.... I also prefer standard https get/post request to an API of my choice, why bother with specific I. P address!!
Actually in this case my customer is a power utility with smart metering services. All smart meters have a M2M SIM which can work in a 2G network.
