Is there a printed manual (proton 8 ) at an affordable price?
Thanks

TimB

Cheapest option would be to go to a local print shop or an online print service

A G search shows many print services like https://doxzoo.com/

Watch out though the manual is constantly being updated

A printed manual is not a good idea because the compiler is always being added too, and the manuals changed to make them more clear to read.

The latest manual for the next 8-bit compiler"upgrade" is 477 pages long! so printing it would be far too expensive in small quantities, then there is the separate manual for the PIC24/dsPIC33 compiler! It would be less expensive to buy a cheap printer and some paper and a couple of binders. :-)

Both TimB and top204 make good points about the manual being updated and the need and thus cost to reprint occasionally.

Personally, if there is a lot to read, i.e. the entire manual, I prefer printed text to reading a PDF and it has the advantages of being able to highlight key parts, bookmarking your place and scribble notes on pages. If I only need to dip in and out of certain parts as required then PDF is not to bad.
Reading the PDF manual will be an easier experience when JohnB' new IDE is released than with the Mechanique one as there is no need to swap applications to view it, it is just there in the next tab.

The biggest disadvantage of using a printed manual. CTRL + F does not work.  :)

OK. I finally printed the manual with my printer. 4 pages per sheet (2 on each side). It's still readable...
I prefer printed text.
