Is anybody there?

What's Up? As per the instructions on the "Purchase the Positron" thread. I sent an email with a purchase request and a few questions about upgrading to Storypainter@hotmail.com on 11/01/2024. As of yet- 11/07, I've not heard a peep. Is anyone manning the tower?

I have received a couple of emails concerning the purchase of the compilers, and replied to all of them, but not had any confirmations yet.

What name is it, and please also send a message on the forum to be doubly sure, as I am having some viewing problems with the, 'utterly dreadful', outlook website since micro$oft screwed up the hotmail accounts, and am awaiting thunderbird to get their act together to support the new 'hashed' micro$oft email server without having to delete the current email account and start a new one with the same name!

I think I am going to have to change to my: "myamicus18@gmail.com" account for everything! What a bloody pain micro$oft are!

Les,

is this your domain/website: https://rosettamicro.com/ (expired certificate)

In which case you could host your own email address, e.g. les@rosettamicro.com

I can help you if you agree and have control of the domain name registrar account and the web hosting account?

I still pay for the rosettamicro.com site, but got so fed up trying to add the certificate, and trying to understand wordpress that is on there, kindly added by gavi, that I gave up on it.

Internet gubbins has never been my strong point, and I go into panic mode (literally after my brain injury) that I have to drop it before I go into an anxiety overload and my dizzyness gets worse.

Adding an email account will cost even more money, so i am afraid I cannot afford that along with the other payments for the compilers support.

@John Lawton

I don't know there about rosetta, but protoncompiler.com is owned by Les and hosted at Namecheap which also offers e-mail accounts and servers with the hosting for free, it's all in C-panel but I have no knowledge there.

As far as myamicus18@gmail.com is concerned, Les can forward all messages to the new account thus by having access to all emails old and new ones.

Hi Les,

panic not!

Normally a hosting account includes email, so you wouldn't need to pay more. If you PM me the Cpanel login details of the hosting account I'll take a look for you, FOC.

If it's possible, I think it would be best to attach it to the Positron domain so it stays streamlined. From memory, this site has been maintained for a few years, and I am sure between us all, we can cover that ongoing.

Sales@positroncompiler.com / Enquires@positroncompiler.com is generally the norm, adding to outlook\android\IOS is pretty simple once setup or using a webmail portal

Many thanks people.

The last time I looked at the "free" emails from namecheap, they were 'indeed' free, but only for the first year, then had to be paid for, per year. Which means you are "locked" into them. No thank you on that. :-)

In the past, and before I got namecheap, I looked at all the other servers that advertise as "free!" or "Only £5!" etc, then in the small print it reads "After a period of 12 months the price with be £50" etc... And GoDaddy was one of the worst for pricing! Yet they advertise as "cheap", but forget to advertise that is is "only for the first year", then prices go crazy. What a rip-off!

I'll take another look over the weekend at the namecheap and the C-Panel sites I have.

There must be a misunderstanding Les, the e-mails always have been free as long as you have the hosting there. I have generated bunch of e-mails for some shady site registrations and never had to pay for those, still existing and I can add more to the domain.

Les, tell us which web/email host you use for rosettamicro.com and I'll take a look at their offering. Trastikata is correct about email not being extra to web hosting, (but email on it's own is sometimes offered without web hosting).
