LCD 2x8

Goodmorning....
I am making a humidity and temperature reader with a DHT22. I found a guide on this forum and it works very well. Since a 2x16 LCD is oversized, I wanted to use a 2x8 which is sufficient. It doesn't work, I have two CBC008002A04-YHY-R 2x8 LCDs but I think they use another controller and not the HD44780 I think the SPLC780A1. Will it be possible to use them with Positron?

Hi,
I have had a quick look at the instruction set and pin connections for both and they looks similar.
You have not said exactly what does not work, do you see anything at all or just a blank screen?

Hi Bob....indeed the description of the problem is quite sparse. Basically, I've checked all the connections and they are correct, the same circuit works fine if I connect a 2x16 LCD, but if I connect the 2x8, I only see the first line with the usual black squares and the second line empty. it doesn't seem to get the initial reset. I compared the two controller datasheets and they would seem the same, which is why I went to the forum. Now the only thing to do is turn on the oscilloscope and check the signals I would not like there is a broken wire.

So, problems solved, it was definitely a broken cable. Works well.
