PICKIT2 Current

I am using a PicKit2 to in circuit program a 18f26k22.
All works fine  -  also on the board is an AD9850 module that
draws about 100 mA. Its very useful to run the supply volts
to the board  from the PicKit2 , Does anybody know how much current
The PicKit can supply. The output voltage is variable so It must be via some regulator
in the device.

From PICkit2 user's guide: "The USB port current limit is set to 100 mA. If the target plus the PICkit 2 exceed this
current limit, the USB port may turn off. The target may be powered externally if
more power is required".

Thanks SebaG  -  I am running the pickit on its limit but it all seems ok  and cool!

FWIW I've shot myself in the foot (sadly more than once) trying to use Pickit2/3 as a power supply. I know it is convenient but don't do it, all your hair will fall ou and you'll end up a jibbering wreck. Don't even rely on 100mA @ 5V. If possible power the curcuit independantly of the P2/3, it'll determine that target is running on local power. I seem to remember there was a thread on the old board.
