Intel is now shipping 18A chips from its Arizona fabs, combining two major process changes: RibbonFET gate-all-around transistors and PowerVia backside power delivery.  The investment and technology is unbelievable.

Good reporting.

Fascinating -- hard to believe that it was only 79 years ago that the Bell Labs trio conjured together a chunk of germanium, gold foil and paper clips, and stood back scratching their heads, puzzled over why Ohms Law couldn't explain what they were measuring.

And when you think where all that engineering will go for:

1. Total surveillance and control
2. Games and entertainment
3. New smartphones be able to run latest stupid sparkles, smooth faces etc applications
...
Real applied and fundamental science, medicine, space, things that matter to humanity, go way down on the list.

Unfortunately I believe very little, if anything, of what is on facebook and youtube, and other 'social media' type sites.

Also, a lot, if not all, of that video looked very much like AI generated video, so I believe very little of its statements.

Look again at it, and you will see the contents do not seem quite "real" people, not even the narrator, and the "real" places have a lot of false 'people' in them.

Online video-editing platform Kapwing determined that approximately 21% of YouTube videos are fake ranging from staged pranks to AI generated slop to deepfakes and impersonations.

YouTube is aware of the issue and has dramatically scaled up enforcement to detect and remove fake videos and delete their ad revenue.  However, this is currently a losing battle because bad actors can create and upload fake content exponentially faster than fake content can be detected and deleted.

Having said the above, although approximately 80% of YouTube videos are not necessarily fake, this does not mean they are truthful or accurate.

Lastly, regarding Intel's fab plant 82 in Arizona, the plant is officially in high volume production of 2-nanometer 18A chips (Note 18 indicates18 angstroms).
