Hi,
I just about got to the end of my tether today. I ordered something from eBay, I got an email telling me it had been delivered which was a surprise as i was in. I checked the tracking and it was not my door so I tried to raise a missing order complaint. This is where the system fell flat, everytime I tried to raise the report it took me to a page which showed me it had been delivered. After a few attempts I said it was useless as it was stuck in a loop and gave up. Heaven help us if this is the way forward.

If you paid using PayPal you can issue a dispute against the supplier.

Hi John,
I actually got through to a person when I told the stupidity it was stuck in a loop so perhaps a real person could help. How wrong I was, he said as the system says it is still in transit there is nothing he can do until the delivered by date even though he can see it says it has been delivered.
Getting my money back is not the issue, new the stuff would cost around £240 which I would not want to pay but on eBay it was £80 second hand. I do not know what Royal Mail will do if the person where it has been delivered decides to keep it. I doubt they would do anything.

Hi friend, I thought it only happened in Mexico! But I see they're abusive. The same thing happened to me, and I lost a good amount, and there's no way to get your money back or the product. As Juan says, today I pay everything with PayPal, and through them, if there's a problem, they'll refund your money. Regards.

As a tip, pay everything with PayPal on different portals like AliExpress, Mercado Pago, Amazon, Alibaba, etc., so you can file a claim and recover your investment.

Hi Bob,
if it is a private delivery party as used by Amazon or sometimes even larger couriers sometimes that seem to assume that people are out during the day/don't wan to wait for someone to answer the door as they are paid piece work so just drop leave it on the doorstep (really annoying as anyone can take it) or behind a bin without ever ring the doorbell as I have had notification of deliveries while in and not hear a know or bell ring.

They are tasked with delivering it, so it they mis-delivered it to a third party that should be liable to pay compensation for the cost of the missing item.
Have you tried looking to see if they left if behind a bin/with a neighbour as they though you were out and left it with them but either did not leave a card/it blew away being wedged in the doorframe rather than posted?

I once had a notification on Monday that the package was delivered, original sent to my home address but redirected to collect at post office immediate upon received projected delivery date as I would not be in.
Went to the post office Tuesday afternoon to collect but it could not be found (concerning being an expensive item), the server said they would ask the person who was in the previous day it that has seen it. Wednesday morning I checked the tracing on Royal mail website which showed...
Delivered (Monday)
Peterborough Depot (Tuesday)
Out for Deliver (Tuesday)
Peterborough Depot Tuesday (Tuesday)
Out for Deliver (Wednesday)

Not sure how that happened, I suspect that it was scanned as delivered, then they noticed the collect from post office on the bottom (instead of more logically over original address), so it re-entered the system but was still re-delivered to my (photo showed it left in my Electical meter box), as collect from post office stick was not seen/ignored.

So may be worth re-checking the tracking to see if anything has changed, if not try contacting the courier, they should then contact the whoever should have delivered it and see if they recall leaving it in a "safe place".

Hi,
I got a knock on the door this morning and someone I have never seen before had my parcel.

The annoying thing here is the level of stupidity that is now inherent in these companies.
eBays "assistant", (hindrance more like) could not work out what delivered to the wrong address meant, the actual person I spoke to could not override the system until a set time after.
