Out of curiosity I just had a look at the Labcenter site and I see that new version Proteus 9 is available.  I would love to upgrade but now that I am just a hobbyist user there is no way that I can justify the cost!

From what I have read, version 9 is nowhere near ready, and is full of anomalies. Which is staggering when you consider the price of the bloody thing!

How much does it cost these days?

I once had an all-8bit-devices licence but it expired a long time ago now.

See here John:

Crazy prices for just a few devices. Then extra money for extra bits and pieces that should 'technically', already be there, then more money for others, then more money, then more money.......

Crazy!  >:(
I'd rather pay Les a donation a few times a year for Positron (a very good product) that I can really use than to ever pay this.
You can also get a long way with a breadboard as a test board  ;D

I have tried V9 and immediately reverted back to V8 Sims just did not seem to work.

I am used to using the UI for PCB's but decided I need to learn Easy EDA

I did as well Tim, and moved straight back to version 8. That still has 'lots' of anomalies, but not as many as the released version 9.

Interesting (?) that it it does not work very well.

It would be a nice thing to have if it worked but as I have mentioned before you cannot beat the confidence of using real hardware.  If you have a programming problem you can never be sure if it is the emulator or not.

My license ran out at V8 Beta.

I installed Proteus 9 but still using 8.17. Labcenter know that it's not finished as you can install both versions in the same Windows. Today was launched one more service pack, the 4th in 2.1/2 months. It's getting hard to pay for it.

Hi, is there a special way to install different versions on the same machine?
