Positron Compilers Upgrades nearly ready

Just to let you know that the Positron Compilers upgrade is just about ready and I will be accepting orders in a few days.

It will cost only £25.00 via a payment from PayPal only, as I will not be placing it on ebay. After purchase, a URL link will be given so the upgrade installer can be downloaded and it will add the new devices and files to an existing Positron Compilers installation. It is not a full compiler installer. All new Positron compiler purchases will be the very latest version with the new devices added and anyone who has purchased the compilers within the past 28 days will receive the upgrade for free.

Here is the summary of the additions, that have taken quite a bit of adding because microchip have changed so much. However, the new 18F Q devices are actually very nice devices and some have nearly 13K or RAM in them and a host of peripherals, so the excitement begins learning how to use them...

Corrected the Clear command. It now also clears the Stack RAM before a user's program starts.

Updated the Positron16 manual to cover Global and Shared variables.

Les, I got a question - I'd like to purchase a full installer to support your work, can I install it on top of the existing one I have?

Good question.

For the sake of compatibility with old source code which is sometimes an issue, it would be extremely useful to be able to install and run different versions of the compiler on the same PC so they can be selected and run as required.

I'm basically asking if this be done by the software installer when installing updates (as required by the user) rather than having to hack directory names etc to facilitate it.

I think that the way to go is if you get new CPU's they need to be paid for. £25 is a very low cost to get a new set of CPU support.

Hi Les,
I will probably get the upgrade even thogh I doubt I will ever use the new devices.
I do have a question though, if I dont upgrade and a subsequent bug fix / update is released will that still work?

Also, I refuse to have a PayPal account due to issues in the past so how is it posible to pay.

Ebay is no longer in partnership with paypal eg they seperated. So ebay pushes you to use a CC

The correction updates will not interfere with the upgrade.

Ebay is such a disgrace now Tim. It used to be such a good site to buy and sell on, but it has taken a lead from Amazon and just rips people off now, and has, officially, gotten in to bed with the devil and his hordes, so even more is ripped off from a seller. :-(

The PIC18F47K42 device is already in the current Positron8 compiler.

For now, I need a couple of different 28-pin DIL 18FxxQ84 type devices so I can place them in my Amicus18 board and see if I can get the I2C peripheral working, then make the HBus commands suitable for thenewer devices.
