Hello all,

Is anyone knows if a simple RS232 to USB though holes chip exist?
I get my boards made by firms but I'm still do hold fashion through holes designs when ever possible. I find difficult to solder those small pins. ::). Thank you

Yves

I have this chip it is very small and using very few components CH330N is to include it in a PCB board it works very well, I hope it works for you friend, greetings

NOTE: the voltage can be connected to 5V and the TX and RX output levels are TTL
If you want to use it as rs232 use a MAX232

I recommend the CH340G UART module, it is already assembled, and it works very well with WINXP up to WIN10, it is very stable, I have never had a problem with disconnections, it works very well for any communication with any chip

Many thanks to all for the information. It looks for me I should opt for a breakout module to connect to the existing board. Those breakout converter are relatively cheap and easy to implement.  Many thanks again.
