Is anybody among us using any of these programming devices? Northern Software.

You need to be careful with some of these programmers, because they only work with LVP (Low Voltage Programming). On the newer devices, this is great, but on the older devices, the PGM pin had to be brought low and could not be used for general work if the LVP fuse was set.

I've recently been looking into the LVP with the new devices, and it seems the way forward because the silly 12 Volts is not required on the device's VPP pin. It's how it should have always been, and the OSC pins should have been the programming pins as well, so a circuit can use the PORTB.6 and PORTB.7 pins without interfering with In Circuit Programming capability.
